Betty Carlson 09/09/2013

Betty Jane Carlson, age 90 of Princeton, went home to be with her Savior on September 9, 2013.  She was born the daughter of Judd and Luella (Wold) Soule on June 10, 1923 in Sauk Rapids, MN.  Betty grew up in the Princeton area and graduated from Princeton High School.  She was united in marriage to Clifford Carlson on May 6, 1944 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Santiago, MN.  She was employed at Fingerhut, Princeton Elim Home, and Paul’s Bakery.  She faithfully served her Lord at her church, With Helping Hands, and the Princeton Used Clothing Center.  Betty loved being a grandma and great-grandma.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Clifford Carlson of Princeton; sons, Gary (Janice) Carlson and Steven (Kathleen) Carlson both of Princeton; daughter, Diane Theisen of Princeton; grandchildren, David Carlson of Monticello, Paul (Joa) Carlson of Minneapolis, Sarah (Brian) Carlson, of Becker, Mark Carlson of Oak Grove, Elizabeth (Dave) Bull of Mankato, Michelle (Mike) Maida of Princeton, Heather Dodd of Grand Rapids, Chad (Ann) Carlson of Princeton, Heidi Jo (Matt) Bergmann of Princeton; Rachel (Nic) Eastwood of Monticello, Rebecca (Justin) Thurber of Zimmerman, Ryan (Dedra) Theisen of Princeton; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dona Bigelow of Princeton, Lois (Richard) Gustafson of Milaca, Janet Nelson of Princeton, Patty (Robert) Trier of Princeton; brothers, Robert (Madelyn) Soule of Princeton, Dennis Soule of Mankato; sister-in-law, Phyllis Soule of Perham; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Judd and Luella Soule; two infant siblings; brother, Larry Soule.  A Celebration of Betty’s life was held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11 am at Bethany Lutheran Church in Princeton.  Visitation was also Thursday from 9-11 am at the church.  Interment was in Our Savior’s Cemetery in Santiago.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.
