Anita Limbach 10/21/2016

Anita Joyce Limbach, age 84, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Dove West Care Facility in Eau Claire, WI.   She was born September 8, 1932 to the late Rose (Frauenhoffer) and George Goodwin in Chicago, Illinois. Anita was also preceded in death by brothers George and Robert Goodwin, Husband Gus Limbach and former Husband G. Fred Kremer.
She is survived by children Beth Hambel (Minnetonka, MN), Karen Kremer (Eau Claire, WI), George Kremer (Aspen, CO), Paul (Patti) Kremer (Hudson, WI) and Grandchildren Heather Green (Brisbane, QL Australia), Brian Green (Minneapolis, MN), Nathan (Julie) Barron (Minnetonka, MN), Nicholas Kremer (St. Paul, MN), Zachary Kremer (Hudson, WI) and Great Granddaughter Lily Barron (Minnetonka, MN).
Anita left Chicago as a young woman when her family purchased Bowen Lodge on Lake Winnibigosh and where she would meet and marry G. Fred Kremer and begin raising a family in Grand Rapids, MN.  Moving to Hudson, WI in 1961 as Fred started Kremer’s Ben Franklin, she soon felt Hudson was “home’ and remained so throughout her life.
She later married Gus Limbach and they embarked on the adventures of living on Madeline Island, WI and Battlement Mesa, CO.  After Gus’s death in 1998 she returned to Hudson where she felt most at “home”.
Anita had a gift for gathering friends wherever she went and will be remembered by all for sharing her love of natural beauty, theatre, music, good books, great food in good company and her beloved dogs.  She was also committed to raising awareness of chemical health issues in the Hudson community and was a founding member of Community Action which continues its mission today to provide education and resources to young people and others in the Hudson area.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor are suggested to support the MN Landscape Arboretum or an  animal rescue group.
Her ashes will be returned to the beauty of nature she loved by her Family at a private remembrance gathering.
